Year 6, our unit question is:   How can I use Digital Design to show cultural diversity?   Today I would like you to  think about this question as you work.

As we spoke about on Tuesday. We are doing this project to learn about others in the class and to teach others in the class about us.  We want everyone to know that people are more similar than different. We want to celebrate both what we have in common and the differences.  We want people to become more tolerant of others. We learn a lot about other cultures through food.

The solution to our unit question (above) is that we will create a recipe flyer with one of our favourite recipes.  This recipe will be from our culture. For instance, Coline will use a French recipe, Sean will use a recipe from New Zealand.  If you are from 2 different cultures (for instance Yasmin), choose a recipe from either culture.

Use Calibri,  font size 11, black for the entire document

1.  Open a word document.
2.  Type your name at the top left margin.
3.  Hit the "enter" key
4.  Type:   Criterion A - Inquiring and Analyzing
      bold,  center the text
5.  Hit the "enter" key
6.  Type: Introduction
     bold, left margin
7.  Hit the "enter" key
8.  Type 4 sentences saying why we are doing this project. Use your own words. (Look at the unit question and (above) explain and justify what we are doing and why we are doing it).
9. Hit the "enter" key
10. Think of a recipe that you like.
11. Find that recipe online in English.
12. Copy and paste that recipe into your word document
13. Copy and paste the web address (where you got the recipe) into your word document.

If you finish this, you may play typing games online.  http://www.freetypinggame.net
